Hello Linda; Since no one seems to be answering your question . . . . I live in central NJ, and am not terribly familiar with Cape May "diamonds". I have not heard of any rutillated quartz from there, but that doesn't mean there could not be. It surely sounds like you found one and it would be difficult for it to be anything else. I hope you had a great vacation here. Lorraine and I like Cape May and its Victorian architecture. Each year in October they have an open house weekend, where visitors get to go through about a dozen of them. It is a delightful weekend, but reservations need to be made about a year in advance.
