Hi Linda Since rutile inclusions are not reported for the quartz xls from Cape May, and since a number of other minerals can be found as fibrous to needle-like inclusions in quartz, it would probably take lab analysis to prove that the inclusions in your piece are actually rutile - and they could well be one of the other minerals that look similar when they are seen as inclusions. There have been quite a few cases of supposedly "rutilated" quartz turning out to actually contain something else; so I would not call the piece "rutilated" until the inclusions have been proven to actually be rutile. To be on the safe side, it would be best to simply say the quartz is "included." Regards Alan
