At least with stabalized turquoise the idea is to take an existing material and stabilize it. It starts out as turquiose. Calsilica though, starts out as a rock but then they add so much epoxy resin, dyes, etc that it's far removed from a "rock" in the end. It's as good as plastic. That's the problem I have with it being called a "gemstone".
