Re: Diamond Gem Cabbing Machine

Much of your decision is personal preference. I have my Genie set up for production work so I have a 60 grit metal folloowed by a 220 metal. The Novas go 60, 280 600, 1200.

The 60 Grit metal is aggressive to allow me to rapidly preform the cabs of harder materials and the 220 for the softer materials.

The 60 Nova will remove flat spots and grinding marks in seconds followed by the typically order of 280, 600, 1200 and final polish. Several people have recommended that I also use a 3000 for a prepolish but I rarely find a need for it. Ususally for obsidian. This set-up allows me to preform, cab and polish up to 100 stones a day when I'm in a groove.
