Re: Re: How to orient a star Ruby for a cabochon Me Again; If your ruby is a crystal (the six sides of the prism show and you can find the terminations) the c-axis is parallel to the six sides. Keep the cabachon centered on the termination, perpendicular to the sides, and the star should be centered on the cabachon.
