I don't think it is sandstone. It has small crystals in the eroded part. It reminds me of what granite looks like. The rock seems to be made up of many kinds of rocks. There are also some veins of rust on the rock and a red colored rock approx. 6" x 6" is embedded in the non-eroded section of the rock. The creek near were the rock was found appears to be much smaller now than it used to be. The eroded portion of the rock was partly sticking out of the creek bank many feet up from the creek. More pictures are available if you would like to see them.
