BC rockhounding spots

Howdy all. Newbie pebble pup here.My g/f and I enjoy Agates and crystals. We are finding it difficult to find out where to go what to look for etc. We have spent a lot of time on the Fraser river bars and have ignited a passion. Now that the river is in full flood we need to look at other sites. We have Cam Bacon's book as well as the BC mineral sites book. We have found both to be a little inaccurate and would prefer to befriend locals with first hand knowledge. Anyone up for it? Thanks in advance to any who can help.
