Re: Club PC?

Hi Mel
I kept watching to see if you would get any replies to your posting about a club owned PC, but you did not so I am going to take a stab at it. Let me start out by saying my club dose not own a PC. With anything a club owns (Lapidary Equipment etc. or PC) you need to have some one to really take charge of it. Meaning no one use it with out this person present because when it get hosed up and it will you need to have someone with some idea of where to start to straight it out and this goes double for a PC as opposed to regular Lapidary Equipment. Also if you go ahead and get a PC I would recommend a program called “Go-Back” be placed on your PC. This is a program a lot of schools use with PC the kids are on. It takes a snap-shot half a dozen times a day and creates a copy of your hard-drive at that time. If someone downloads a virus or hoses up the PC in some way you simply start Go-Back and you will get a list dates in the past. You just click one of those dates and Go-Back will make your hard-drive look like it did on the date you selected. All the viruses and hose up are gone along with any important data someone has loaded, but it is still a good and quick fix.
Good Luck
