Is the stone clean? REALLY clean? I use alcohol for most stones. You should also heat the stone so when you introduce the dop wax to the stone, it flows. When cabbing, I use a tweezer and hold the stone over the open alcohol flame until very warm, then set it down, warm side up and press the dop on.
