You are preheating (warming) the slab, before attaching the dop and wax, are you not? If so, then try rough grinding one side of the slab just enough to give a good grip surface for the wax. Some saw blades, especially new ones, can leave slabs so smooth after cutting that when dopping the wax has a hard time making a good bond.
